Staying in Cairo

Planning notes for where to stay in Cairo. Live hotel search on this site currently serves Los Angeles, Paris, and Dubai only — not Egyptian inventory.

Cairo is where almost every Egypt trip begins and ends, and where you stay shapes the whole visit. This page is planning guidance, not a live Cairo hotel catalogue.

Hotel search on this site

Sandbox hotel inventory is Los Angeles, Paris, and Dubai only. There is no Egyptian hotel inventory to book here yet. Use the hotel search for those three destinations, and use this page for neighbourhood context when planning a Cairo stay later.

Where travellers usually stay

  • Giza / Pyramids area — for travelers who want pyramid views from their room or a short drive to the plateau at sunrise
  • Downtown Cairo & Garden City — central, walkable to the Egyptian Museum and Tahrir Square, good base for first-time visitors
  • Zamalek — a quieter island neighborhood on the Nile, popular with longer-stay and repeat visitors
  • Nile-front towers (Corniche area) — international hotel brands with river views and full amenities

Good to know

  • Cairo traffic is heavy — factor 45–60 minutes between most neighborhoods and the pyramids
  • Many hotels near Giza offer pyramid-view rooms at a premium; worth it for a first visit
  • Airport transfers can be arranged separately — see Car Rentals & Private Transfers
